WHAT IS SPORTS & REMEDIAL MASSAGE?

Sports massage traditionally focuses on enhancing athletic performance, preventing injuries, and improving recovery for active individuals, whereas remedial massage helps people with chronic pain, postural issues, or specific musculoskeletal conditions that need a targeted approach to healing.

At Boost, we view sports and remedial massage as one  using hands-on treatment to address specific musculoskeletal issues and pain, and to restore normal function.

Sports massage involves manipulating the soft tissues — including muscles, ligaments, and tendons — often with firm pressure when needed. In addition to treating the soft tissues, it helps to improve circulation, support the lymphatic system, and remove toxins and waste products from the body, improving overall health and wellbeing.

Treatments can benefit anyone dealing with muscle tightness, stiffness, postural tension, or everyday aches and pains — not just those who train or play sport. They’re also ideal for supporting recovery from injuries, repetitive strain, or the effects of stress and desk posture.

Many people think sports massage just means strong pressure — but that’s not true. We like to think of it as as outcome-based treatment.

Rather than being limited by the guidelines of a particular style of massage, sports massage combines techniques from many massage forms such as deep tissue and swedish,  as well as advanced neuromuscular techniques, stretching, and trigger point therapy.  Using postural and movement analysis, we look at the body as a whole to identify imbalances and patterns that may be contributing to pain or restriction.

This flexible, outcome-based approach enables us to address the root cause of discomfort, rather than just the location of pain.

Our focus is on tailored treatment and long-term results.
We’ll work with you to understand your body, share our expertise, and give you the tools to stay pain-free and moving well.

Our goal is simple: to help you move better, feel better, and live better.
